Hi there,
For Jim and Monette,
No, I wasn't a half-year student; yet Mildred Goudzwaard stands out in
my memory as far as teachers go. I guess I became a half-year student of
sorts, though, when I 'left' OHHS after the first sememter of our senior
year after a counselor told me I had accumulated enough credits to graduate.
So, I enrolled in GRJC and then returned for our June graduation ceremonies.
One year later, meaning 1 1/2 years at GRJC, I transferred to MSU, got my
teaching credential and headed out to CA to begin my teaching career. That
was my first career. My second one was as executive secretary to the CEO of
a nationwide corporation. What a difference from teaching that was! I got
to go to the restroom when I needed to. And, I got to speak with one adult
at a time...f a r different than working in a classroom, to say the least.
Looking forward to seeing so many classmates at our reunion, although I
admit I remember mostly lots of names.
Sally Brand
