Hey, Annie, Barb Frost here again.? Before you get your name dropped from the list, I want to know if you received the e-mail I sent directly??to you.? The past couple of weeks I have been barraged with family birthdays, graduations, etc.? I did get your phone number, and will be in touch to go out to lunch, dinner or something.? I am going to get with Ann Davis on my next trip to Indiana to visit with my kids and grandkids for about ten days beginning June 5th.? It turns out she lives only a few blocks from one of my daughters.? It's really great re-making so many connections.? I'll see you very soon.

Several things you can do if you want to be part of the discussion.
1) Set the listserv for a DIGEST. This means that you should get a
single large email file once a day, usually about midnight, that you
can read at your leisure. Quick and easy and reduces clutter. You
should be able to reply to an individual post since you're still
subbed to the list. For a digest, put this in the subject header:
? ? ? ? ???set ohhs59 digest
Put *nothing* in the text message area, including your signature. Leave
that blank. Sometimes, your service provider adds things you don't see,
so you might get a "stuff was ignored message".
Send the digest request to:???listar@venus.soci.niu.edu
(DO NOT send to ohhs59)
If all else fails, send me email and I'll set your digest manually.
To resume regular email, same as above, but the subject line would be:
? ? ? unset ohhs59 digest
2) A tricker way: Send? listar@venus.soci.niu.edu
a vacation message. Put this in the subject header:
? ? ? ? ? set vacation ohhs59
This means you won't receive *any* emails from the list. But, you
can still read what others have been posted by going to the list
archives:
? ? ? ? ? ? http://venus.soci.niu.edu/~ohhs59/ARCHIVES/2009/index.html
If you seen something you want to respond to, you can't do it directly
from the archives. You'll have to cut/paste anything you want to
quote, and then send it manually by sending a new post to:
? ? ohhs59@venus.soci.niu.edu
Digest is probably the easiest.
Hope this helps.
