Thank you for the website, it is awesome.? It will be first class as you add items.? Sorry my picture wasn't there as I only moved to Grand Rapids my junior year and attended Ottawa Hills High School junior and senior years.? I guess I didn't have my picture taken as my parents were being transferred again and didn't know if I would finish senior year or not.? I lived on Alexander St. second house west of Iroquois St., so walked to school in the morning with my books and went home for lunch, then brought back afternoon books.? I didn't socialize at all.? I never used my locker, was only in the gym one time for a pep rally and in the auditorium a few times.? Since I played organ, I did get permission to go in the auditorium and play the Hammond Organ.? I was only in rooms that my classes were in.? I was only at Gordon Young's house a few times, and he lived just a few houses from me up Iroquois.? I also knew John Bylsma as his dad had a pancake place on 28th street.? I enjoy the emails as I remember some of t
he names that were probably in some of my classes but never socialized with any.? I have good memories of that time, but sorry to say I never had contact with anyone after I left school.? I did stay in Grand Rapids after graduation and attended Grand Rapid Junior College.? I got a job at Grinnell's Music Store.? When my parents moved, I lived with my pastor and then got married, now of 44 years.? We lived in Grand Rapids a few years then moved to Indianapolis Indiana in the Carmel area.? Our kids went to the same schools I went to as a child.? From there we moved to Cape Coral Florida and have been here 28 years.? Cape Coral is between Ft. Myers and Sanibel Island. ?We are now retired after many years of selling pianos and organs.? Where did all the years go?? We were playing dominos with a group of people and my wife said Bob got an invitation to his 50th years graduation.? I was so shocked, I said I haven't been out of school 50 years and everyone laughed at me.? I think that has been one of the most shock
i

ng things in my life to be out of school 50 years.? So sorry we can't come to the reunion.? Last year?was a highlight of my life.? I went to Israel with the pastor and his wife that married us some 44 years ago in Grand Rapis.? We went in February and came back in April.? The first two weeks was a?Holy Land Tour of the entire country of Israel Biblical Sites.? The next?two weeks we took a course with the Israeli Government Antiquities on Archaeology and Conservation.? I have a diploma and am certified to go anytime to do work there.? After that we stayed a month down in the Desert about 35 miles south of the Dead Sea, right on the border of Israel.? We stayed at the Tel at Blossoming Rose, one of the largest in Israel.? More artifacts have been found there than anyplace in Israel.? The old Roman Road (Spice Trail) runs right through the Tel where we stayed and up to Jerusalem.? That's a quick view of my life.? ?

Hey, Bob!!! How are you doing?? We just finished scanning them.
Your pic isn't there - you're listed as "camera shy senior"
    http://venus.soci.niu.edu/~ohhs59/US/year-whe-end.jpg

(scroll to the end)

The homepage is still in-process, so if you have any ideas or want to
add any pics of yourself, holler. It's at:
     http://venus.soci.niu.edu/~ohhs59

If there's interest in keeping it all going after the reunion, we'll
get a dedicated server and upgrade it all.

Jim
