Subject: more thoughts on our OHHS '59 reunion

To The Ottawa Hills Class of '59
After arriving back in Georgia Tuesday and reading several hundred emails, I have a few thoughts.
What a wonderful event.? Thanks to all who helped put the reunion together, particularily Dave Furtney and Jim Thomas.
We were very lucky to grow up in Grand Rapids in the 50's. It was a safe town with a committment to education.? I heard several comments about teachers who had significant effects on students lives.
There were definitely cliques in our class, yet there was movement between each group and a good interaction between all students.? The groups were mostly aligned along interests: sports, cards, etc., or coming from the same grade school or geographic area.
The people who have lived in Grand Rapids their whole lives talked of regret from not living in other areas of the country or world.? The people who've lived in other areas felt envy of those who had the shelter of Grand Rapids their whole lives. I fall into this category.
My only regret is not having had more time to spend in discussion with my class mates.? The time I did spend resulted in hearing great stories.? Here's hoping that in five years we can get together and continue to pick up on each others lives.
Last weekend generated many thoughts and feelings.? There are so many that can't be described other than to say what a special time is was for me to be with you.
